Computer Assistant

Position to be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 YEARS. This term appointment may be extended up to a maximum of four years; CANNOT be made permanent without further competition. Who May Apply:

Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes, 1.) Assisting with the operations of network systems to ensure hardware are functioning properly; 2.) Identifying corrective actions to be taken for information technology failures related to automation systems, software and/or hardware; AND, 3.) Providing technical assistance, such as customer training and assistance, to users to minimize computer disruptions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education:
One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Masters of Computer Science. OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
