Physical Science Technician
Position to be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 YEARS. This term appointment may be extended up to a maximum of four years; CANNOT be made permanent without further competition. Who May Apply:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Experience:
One year of demonstrated specialized experience which includes, 1.) Applying technical principles in order to conduct, monitor and coordinate various phases' physical science operations; 2.) Preparing technical records to be used as data collection; AND, 3.) Performing chemical testing to evaluate the reliability of the results obtained. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education:
One and a two years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Masters of Science. OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is a tleast 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Compliance Inspection and Program ManagementTechnical CompetenceTechnical DocumentationTechnology Application
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
